About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Casualty section in Houston. The successful candidate will work on a variety of casualty cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, dramshop, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and/or property damage. The Associate will handle the day-to-day aspects of this work, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle a docket of casualty cases with partner supervision
  • Client meetings, reporting, and investigation
  • Discovery and motion practice
  • Take and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Independently handle cases or work closely with a partner

Qualifications:

Valid Texas BAR license required.

At least 2 years' experience in civil litigation.

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure
  • Excellent advocacy and writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Deposition practice
  • Motion practice
  • Experience reporting to clients and insurance carriers
  • Billing experience

Compensation and Benefits:

Our compensation package includes a base salary between $107,000 and $150,000, depending on experience, quarterly bonuses, 401(k) with profit share, paid parental leave, healthcare and flexible work environment.
