Position Title: Plant Maintenance Laborer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Full-Time Plant Maintenance Laborer. The primary responsibilities of this role will involve meter reading and supporting various construction and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct meter readings
  • Assist team members with designated construction and maintenance tasks
  • Be available for overtime or alternative hours as required for optimal departmental operations

Safety Requirements:

This position necessitates the use of fall protection equipment, safety harnesses, and 100% tie-off at all times. Candidates with a fear of heights are discouraged from applying.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in construction
  • Preferred experience in maintenance and repair within Power Plants

Special Requirements:

  • Must successfully complete training in Confined Space (C & M Division)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with equipment, materials, and practices used in Power Plant maintenance and repair
  • Understanding of applicable safety regulations and procedures
  • Proficiency in using construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to safely operate power hand tools
  • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues and supervisors
  • Competence in performing manual, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete hiring documentation electronically
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess sufficient strength and stamina for the technical duties outlined
  • Ability to navigate confined spaces and uneven terrain
  • Full range of motion consistent with age
  • Capability to climb and maintain balance on ladders
  • Ability to hear and respond to voice commands and alarms
  • Visual acuity and depth perception necessary for working at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/steel-toe footwear is mandatory
