This role is part of our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which offers a total of $5,000 over a three-year commitment.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant I for our Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Unit. This position involves 36 hours of work per week, featuring 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Our comprehensive benefits package includes accrued PTO hours based on your worked hours.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. In psychiatric settings, support patients in maintaining reality orientation and participate in behavior modification plans, providing informal support therapy.
3. Observe and document patient information, promptly reporting any significant changes to a registered nurse or physician.
4. Aid patients and their families during the admission process and throughout their hospital experience.
5. Deliver care as outlined in the care plan, including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, and basic wound care.
6. Provide personal care to patients, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing and feeding.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including changing linens and restocking supplies.
8. Reinforce patient education provided by healthcare professionals and ensure patient understanding of instructions.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Preferred: Six months of nursing assistant experience.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, with basic computer skills.
