Instructor Pool for Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA maintains a pool of applicants for instructional lecturer positions. These positions are part-time or limited duration appointments not to exceed one year without a further competitive search. Appointments may be extended following a favorable performance review after the first year of lecturing appointment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach lecture, laboratory, and/or field courses in biology, ecology, evolution, behavior, marine biology, mammalogy, herpetology, vertebrate biology, and morphology. Plan and coordinate discussion activities for multiple sections of courses. Supervise course teaching assistants. Manage the acquisition and maintenance of course materials. Supervise student projects. Maintain office hours.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences or a related field is preferred but not required. Demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching at the university level is required. Experience with laboratory instruction in the biological sciences is also required. The level of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and duties.
