Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our pharmacy department. This includes managing the workflow, ensuring efficient operations, and providing a positive patient experience. You will also be responsible for supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, as well as leading training and performance management of pharmacy technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmacy operations, including workflow, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and cashiers to ensure they are meeting company standards.
  • Lead performance management of pharmacy technicians, including making decisions regarding discipline and termination.
  • Assist with healthcare service offerings, including administering vaccines and health screenings.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in pharmacy operations.
  • Coordinate and organize pharmacy daily schedule of activities.
  • Recommends allocation of pharmacy hours and ensures the pharmacy is clean, neat, orderly, and stocked with adequate supplies.
  • Accountable for completion of non-clinical patient calls.
  • Drives new technology/process roll out, champions change, and engages team around action planning.
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of Company asset protection techniques.
  • Supports Pharmacy Manager with diversion monitoring and reports any concerns that would compromise the security of the pharmacy.
  • Communicates prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
  • Ensures the accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues and prevent payment rejections.
  • Assists and supports Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous people management/leadership experience.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
