We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to students with special needs in a high school setting.

Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to work with students in a high school setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and be able to develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
  • Customize instruction to effectively address a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods and innovative technologies to actively engage students.
  • Monitor student progress closely and adapt teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists.
  • Maintain open and consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Possession of a valid Maryland Special Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Proven experience working with students who have diverse learning needs.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to individual student requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
  • Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques and positive behavior supports.
  • Ability to excel within a collaborative team environment.
