Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our team at WellSpan Health Services. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to physicians during invasive cardiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including scrubbing and hemodynamic monitoring duties.
  • Perform diagnostic invasive procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab, including peripheral and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Provide care assessment and instruction to patients prior to, during, and after procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain all pertinent information related to procedures, including patient records and equipment inventory.
  • Assist with equipment quality control and inventory management.
  • Respond to patient distress situations and provide emergency care as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of cardiac concepts and clinical practices, including basic and complex invasive procedures.
  • Operate external cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators, and intervene with appropriate therapy in the event of cardiac emergencies.
  • Assist with peripheral procedures, including carotid and ASD interventions.
  • Utilize specialty equipment for procedures, including IVUS, Rotablator, cutting balloon, and Angiojet.
  • Monitor and record patients' hemodynamic status during procedures.
  • Properly handle and process PACS images, including storage and transfer.
  • Follow radiation safety policies as outlined by the NRC and WellSpan Health's Radiation Safety Committee.
  • Im mobilize patients as necessary and practice radiation safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in cardiovascular technology or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in cath lab/peripheral and/or interventional radiology.
  • Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Technologist-Radiography (RT-R) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
