Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician Generalist to join our team at Mayroad. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical condition and appearance of our residential properties and other assets are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential properties, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.
  • Respond to and complete emergency, urgent, and routine work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and responsiveness to residents, ensuring their needs are met and their concerns are addressed.
  • Perform annual preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential issues and perform on-the-spot repairs as required.
  • Use mobile technology to receive, prioritize, and complete work orders.
  • Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, including diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Conduct moisture and humidity inspections, and perform mold and mildew remediation as needed.
  • Perform routine installation and maintenance of household appliances, including stoves, microwaves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
  • Maintain building HVAC and steam equipment to ensure climate control is functioning properly.
  • Submit requests for replacement of tools and equipment as needed.
  • Apply preventative measures to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using sealants and caulks.
  • Enhance building appearance by updating exterior and interior finishes, including painting and staining.
  • Identify and repair/remove potential safety hazards to prevent injuries to residents and visitors.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; 3+ years of experience in general residential maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to obtain certification in HVAC/Steam (as applicable) within 12 months of hire if necessary.
  • Familiarity with basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and power tools.
  • Basic computer and phone skills, including computer-based training and timekeeping.
  • Ability to use mobile technology, including the Mobile Work Order app.
  • Safety-minded and able to obtain certifications required for the position.
  • Detail-oriented and reliable, with a positive attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
  • Ability to pass a state and federal background check and 12-panel pre-employment drug test.
Work Environment

This position requires regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and involves working in a non-climate regulated environment. May involve exposure to extreme heat/cold, temperature changes, noise, hazardous materials, power tools, and other hazardous working conditions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds, exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force, and frequent walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, balancing, reaching, grasping, handling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Travel

Minimal travel required, less than 5%.
