Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Illuminus is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on equipment, buildings, and furnishings.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain and promote effective communication with all individuals.
- Represent Illuminus in a positive light, aligning with our mission, vision, and values.
- Provide on-call services as assigned.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures, using appropriate tools.
- Conduct minor plumbing maintenance, such as replacing drain hoses and repairing leaks.
- Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work, including preparing surfaces and applying paints, stains, and varnishes.
- Install, repair, and replace appliances, such as refrigerators and ranges.
- Move, reconfigure, and install furniture for residents and staff.
- Repair and modify damaged or missing parts to sheet metal fixtures and equipment.
- Replace and repair ceiling tiles and ceiling grid systems.
- Remove blockages to drains and toilets to restore wastewater and product flow.
- Prioritize work orders and complete them in a timely manner.
- Monitor trash areas for waste services, including compactors and recyclable bins.
- Repair, install, and maintain metal and wood doors, locks, and closures.
- Perform routine system management, testing, and response to life safety systems.
- Respond to facility or environmental emergencies, including power outages and gas leaks.
- Assist with snow removal during shift and may be called in to assist outside of normal work hours.
- Respond to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area to perform emergency building or equipment repairs.

- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Tolerant of interruptions and willing to be flexible with daily schedule.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and auto insurance with Marquardt minimum coverage requirements.
Experience and Training:
- At least 18 years of age, high school degree required.
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field.
