Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern PRN to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will assist hospital staff pharmacists in the preparation and dispensation of medications, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and fulfill medication orders from hospital staff for patients undergoing inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Set up, package, and label medication doses.
  • Fill and dispense routine orders for patient care areas.
  • Refill and maintain inventory and routine maintenance of automated dispensing machines.
  • Demonstrate competency in parenteral admixture dose calculations and preparation, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Licensed Pharmacy Intern through the Virginia Board of Health Professions.
  • Previous inpatient pharmacy experience is preferred.
