About the Role:
As a Cellular Pathologist Specialist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing cellular samples to identify abnormalities and provide accurate information for disease diagnosis and treatment, particularly cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cellular Sample Examination: Examine cellular samples collected through various methods, such as Pap smears, fine needle aspirations, and other cytological techniques.
- Identify and Classify Abnormal Cells: Identify and classify abnormal cells, precancerous cells, and cancerous cells.
- Microscopic Analysis: Utilize microscopes and other laboratory equipment to study the size, shape, and characteristics of cells.
- Evaluate Cellular Patterns and Abnormalities: Evaluate cellular patterns and abnormalities, including changes in color, texture, and nuclear features.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document findings accurately and prepare detailed reports for pathologists and other medical professionals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Cytotechnology or Related Field: Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist: Certification as a Cytotechnologist by a recognized certifying agency.
- Strong Knowledge of Cellular Anatomy, Pathology, and Laboratory Techniques: Strong knowledge of cellular anatomy, pathology, and laboratory techniques.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 per year
Work Environment: Typically work in clinical laboratories, hospitals, or pathology departments, with a significant amount of time spent seated while using microscopes and other laboratory equipment.
