Work Schedule: This position involves a day/evening rotation, including 7:30 AM to 4 PM shifts, with one evening until 6 PM and another until 6:45 PM. Additionally, you will cover two Saturday clinics every six months from 8 AM to 11:45 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer patient-focused Physical Therapy treatments, utilizing evidence-based practices and skilled techniques to achieve optimal functional outcomes under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress and responses to treatment effectively.
  • Design, organize, and implement personalized therapeutic programs in collaboration with patients and their families, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Provide educational resources on Physical Therapy topics to patients, clients, caregivers, hospital staff, and the community.
  • Participate in the education and evaluation of students, acting as a clinical instructor.
  • Serve as a resource for volunteers and observers in the clinical setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or relevant certification is required.
  • Graduation from a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association is mandatory.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and navigate stairs without assistance and maintain balance to prevent patient falls.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands characterized at the heavy level as defined by industry standards.
  • Ability to lift and reach adequately to assist patients during therapeutic sessions.
  • Manual dexterity and tactile sensation to assess muscle tension and monitor patient pulse.
  • Visual acuity to observe and analyze patient movements and read monitoring equipment.
  • Clear verbal communication skills to instruct patients and their families.
  • Auditory ability to understand patient symptoms and treatment responses at a conversational level.

  • Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
