Position Overview:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in the Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Seaside Hospital. This role involves working on a part-time basis, specifically during day shifts, contributing to the recovery and care of surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities:
As a CNA, your duties will include:
1. Collaborating effectively within a high-performing team.
2. Supporting the post-operative recovery process for surgical patients.
3. Assisting Registered Nurses with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
4. Measuring and documenting vital signs, output, and weights.
5. Collecting specimens and conducting fingerstick capillary blood tests.
6. Aiding in patient mobility and transfers, utilizing safe patient handling equipment.
7. Engaging in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
8. Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant certification course.
- Possession of an Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred:
- A minimum of one year of experience in a nursing home or hospital setting.
