We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our State Farm Law Department in Philadelphia, PA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering legal services in an objective and unbiased manner, in accordance with the attorneys' ethical and professional standards.
Responsibilities- Handle cases involving claims with high financial exposure and complexity, including those with complex medical issues, catastrophic injuries, or sensationalized accident facts.
- Conduct depositions and present expert testimony in trial, utilizing creative and effective cross-examination techniques.
- Prepare detailed and concise reports on complicated cases, reflecting in-depth analysis and proposed strategy for further handling.
- Supervise and develop assigned support staff, mentor other attorneys, and serve as a resource person on varied and complex legal issues and administrative matters.
- Utilize automation systems and tools to effectively present cases in the courtroom and manage cases, and lead or teach others about technology to improve office-wide and/or department-wide efficiencies.
- 5+ years of personal injury experience, preferably in insurance defense.
- Jury trial experience and arbitration, deposition, and discovery experience are ideal.
- Must be able to handle an inventory of 70+ files and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School, in the top half of graduating class, and an active member in good standing of the Bar in the state of operation.
- Active law license to practice in Pennsylvania and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Pennsylvania.
