Position Overview

The Colorado Center For Reproductive Medicine is seeking a Senior Embryologist to contribute to our mission of assisting families in their journey towards parenthood. As a vital member of our IVF Laboratory team, you will engage in advanced reproductive technologies and support a diverse range of fertility treatments.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Embryologist will execute a variety of critical tasks in the IVF Laboratory, ensuring adherence to established protocols and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety:

  • Conduct routine and specialized equipment checks, performing maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Implement safe handling and disposal procedures for biohazardous materials.
  • Prepare media and solutions with strict sterile techniques, documenting all materials used.
  • Process semen samples in accordance with laboratory protocols for IVF procedures.
  • Assist medical professionals during egg retrievals, ensuring accurate identification and assessment of oocytes.
  • Follow established double-check systems to confirm the identity of gametes and embryos throughout all procedures.
  • Record and manage patient results within the laboratory information system.
  • Perform fertilization assessments and embryo evaluations with minimal disturbance.
  • Execute embryo freezing and thawing processes, achieving optimal survival rates.
  • Conduct Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) procedures, ensuring high fertilization success.
  • Support embryo transfer procedures, confirming patient identity through systematic checks.
  • Assist in sperm retrieval techniques, including PESA, MESA, and TESE, in line with laboratory standards.
  • Carry out biopsy procedures with a focus on high-quality outcomes and successful implantation rates.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.
  • Relevant medical technology certification if applicable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory or scientific research, preferably in a medical laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and laboratory databases.
Work Environment

This role operates within a professional clinical setting, requiring the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, and using standard office equipment. Candidates should be capable of communicating effectively and managing visual tasks such as data analysis and extensive reading.
