Job Title: Head Baker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Baker to join our culinary team at Chatham Bars Inn, a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Hotel on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. As a Head Baker, you will be responsible for preparing and baking various menu items, including breads, breakfast pastries, cookies, cakes, and more for our restaurants and banquets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high-quality food products and presentation
  • Follow portion sizes, recipes, and kitchen procedures
  • Maintain food stock and cleanliness of workstations and equipment
  • Properly handle, store, and rotate products
  • Assist with food prep and closing kitchen duties as needed
  • Report food waste
  • Complete tasks within designated time frames
  • Manage a diverse team, foster a healthy and creative environment, and participate in team meetings
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of culinary experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with co-workers and management personnel
  • Ability to follow recipes, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks
  • Familiarity with banquet orders and event contracts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Flexible with schedule, ability to work weekends and holidays
