About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Software Engineering to manage the development and upkeep of essential software applications. In this pivotal position, you will guide the agile development and quality assurance teams tasked with creating, deploying, and maintaining the company's proprietary software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a technical team of around 20 professionals, including Development Directors, Quality Assurance, and Project Management.
- Establish and uphold software development and quality assurance protocols to enhance quality, predictability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design application architectures to guarantee system reliability, scalability, and stability.
- Supervise the execution and ongoing enhancement of the Software Development Lifecycle Process (SDLC).
- Align technology investments with business objectives and governance oversight.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in software development and a similar duration in people management.
- Extensive technical expertise with practical experience in software/product development, web technologies, and requirements analysis.
- Proficient in Agile development methodologies, including story estimation, backlog management, and team retrospectives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including version control and deployment methodologies.
- Experience in re-architecting and integrating legacy applications.
- Proficient in data modeling and database development, with a solid understanding of .NET Framework (C#), HTML, XML, and SQL.
- Exposure to AWS services and experience with deployments in AWS ECS is advantageous.
- Knowledge of software security standards and API integrations is preferred.
Industry Experience:
Background in supply chain, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, or third-party logistics (3PL) software is highly desirable.
