Role Summary:
The Education Abroad Advisor plays a vital role in providing comprehensive administrative, technical, and programmatic support to the IEGI. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, effective communication with IEGI partners, and the ability to operate efficiently within a public university setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Program Coordination:

    Oversee all logistics related to Binghamton University's education abroad programs by collaborating with colleagues within IEGI, International Education and Global Affairs (IEGA), partner institutions, and other relevant stakeholders. Proactively address challenges to ensure the success of each program.

  2. Advising and Support:

    Provide general advising to both Binghamton University students and external students through various channels, including in-person drop-in hours and virtual consultations. Participate in education abroad fairs and campus-wide presentations to promote available programs.

  3. Campus Engagement:

    Work closely with campus colleagues to engage and support prospective and current education abroad participants. Develop and assess collaborative initiatives and represent IEGI at relevant campus events.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid driver's license for vehicle operation in New York State.
  • Experience studying abroad at the undergraduate level.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality customer service to students and faculty.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Two years of professional experience in higher education.
  • Experience studying abroad in non-traditional locations.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities.
