About the Role

Apria Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals in their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and guidance to patients and caregivers on the proper use of respiratory equipment and care procedures.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and tests, including pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry, and vital signs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Operate and maintain various types of respiratory care equipment, including oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, and ventilation.
  • Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest respiratory care techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program for respiratory therapy.
  • Registration or certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of related experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Bilingual (reading, writing, verbal) skills.
Work Environment

The Respiratory Therapist will work in a home healthcare setting, providing care to patients in their homes. The work environment will vary depending on the location and patient needs. The Respiratory Therapist must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle during the day and night and in a wide range of weather and traffic conditions.
