Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Meat Cutter to join our team at Save Mart Supermarkets. As a Journeyman Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for meeting daily production needs and quality standards in meat cutting and preparation. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, and price meat department products
  • Order and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen food products
  • Package, prepare trays, weigh items, and label products
  • Rotate product and remove out-of-code-date products
  • Ensure proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or additional job experience
  • Prior Meat Department experience, including cutting of meat
  • Ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions
  • Ability to perform simple and repetitive tasks
  • Ability to maintain work pace appropriate to a given workload

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds.
