About the Job
The City of Cape Girardeau is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Animal Control Officer to fill a critical role in our public health and safety team. As an Animal Control Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing city ordinances related to animal control, parking, and public health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol city streets and neighborhoods to identify and address animal control, parking, and public health and safety issues
- Issue citations or warnings for observed ordinance violations
- Investigate abandoned vehicles and determine their status
- Post property notices and give written warnings to violators of weed abatement and litter ordinances
- Impound and control domestic and wild animals, reptiles, and fowl
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- No felony convictions

Selection Process
