Patient Care Technician EMT

The Patient Care Technician EMT is a vital member of the Emergency Department patient care team, working collaboratively with nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care. This role requires a certified and/or licensed EMT or EMT-P, with a strong focus on patient safety, communication, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with maintaining a safe patient environment, adhering to patient safety initiatives, hand hygiene, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate.
- Perform delegated tasks under the supervision of the registered nurse, including setting up procedures, operating patient monitoring equipment, and recording vital signs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, documenting all interventions and patient responses.
- Transport patients within the facility, utilizing appropriate transport and monitoring equipment.
- Current certification as an EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, or Military Medic.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 6 months of hire), CPI (within 90 days of hire).
- High School Graduate or equivalent, with a graduate of EMT program or military medic training program.
- One year experience as an Emergency Department Technician or Paramedic preferred.
