Position Summary:
The role involves executing a range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks on plant machinery, including Disamatic molding machines, shot blast machines, furnaces, pumps, fans, gearboxes, shafts, belts, water and air lines, valves, motors, electrical panels, generators, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment pertinent to the foundry.
- Conduct preventive maintenance in line with established protocols.
- Utilize various hand and power tools (such as drills, lathes, grinders, and saws) and related equipment (including welding tools) for necessary repairs.
- Install machinery and electrical systems to support an array of foundry equipment.
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals to perform assigned tasks.
- Safely transfer materials using a forklift, adhering to work instructions.
- Complete daily inspection checklists when operating a forklift.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- Weekend work may be necessary.
- Employees are expected to provide their own basic tools; specific tools will be supplied by the company.
- Adhere to all safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines as outlined in plant protocols.
- Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Required PPE includes safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hats, face shields for grinding, welding helmets/glasses for welding, arc flash uniforms, gloves (for welding and electrical/arc flash tasks), and fall protection harnesses when necessary.
Experience Required:- Preferred prior knowledge of green sand foundry practices, principles, and equipment.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Industrial Maintenance is required.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Completion of Industrial Maintenance Technology courses or Journeyman certification is highly desirable.

Work Schedule:
Standard shifts are 8 hours, with up to 4 hours of overtime permitted (maximum of 12 hours per day). Mandatory overtime may be required on weekends to cover schedules or vacations. Employees receive two 15-minute breaks per shift, with an additional break for shifts exceeding 12 hours. Job rotation within maintenance varies based on assigned projects and equipment breakdowns.
Work Environment:
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, in environments that may be noisy and dusty due to airborne sand and metal particles. Proximity to molten iron and hot components is common. Employees may experience radiant heat and varying temperatures, as well as vibrations from machinery.
Work involves operating around moving machinery, frequently working at heights, and performing tasks in confined spaces.
Tools:
Employees will utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and voltage/amp meters as part of their daily responsibilities.
