Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ECE Specialist to join our team at Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Education Services component of our Head Start Program, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Community Care Licensing Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support assigned staff, interns, and volunteers in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage personnel processes, including performance evaluations and staff development.
  • Establish and maintain compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and State Licensing Regulations.
  • Plan and provide input into purchasing of equipment and materials for sites.
  • Conduct regular classroom visits to facilitate implementation of curriculum, class organization, and early childhood education best practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Teacher/Center Directors and provide input on staff evaluations.
  • Plan, conduct, and participate in in-service trainings related to child development and early childhood education.
  • Work in partnership with staff and parents through the program planning process.
  • Review and analyze data related to the operation and delivery of services.
  • Evaluate practices and procedures as part of continued improvement plan and ongoing effort.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development (CD)/Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field with a minimum of twenty-four (24) units in CD/ECE required.
  • Master's Degree in Education, CD/ECE desirable.
  • Knowledge of Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), and Teaching Pyramid (TP) preferred.
  • Twenty-four (24) working months experience as a pre-school teacher or Forty-eight (48) working months experience in a pre-school and/or pre-kindergarten setting required.
  • Thirty-six (36) working months experience with administrative duties in a CD/ECE position with staff of four (4) or more that include evaluating, training, mentoring, etc., required.
  • Thirty-six (36) working months of direct staff education coaching (practice based) and development experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
  • Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or other secondary language may be required based on the needs of the clients and the program.
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
