Job Summary

The Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating front-end scanning equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Smile and greet customers, answer customer questions, and help resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Follow company policies to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Order Fulfillment
    • Identify and shop customer orders in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and fresh orders.
  • Checkout Operations
    • Operate front-end scanning equipment and register, perform all related checkout procedures, including bagging merchandise efficiently and placing merchandise in customers' carts.
  • Communication
    • Contact customers by phone to address any questions or concerns.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions.
  • Accuracy and Security
    • Maintain accuracy during transactions, ensuring customers are charged for all items and proper funds are collected.
    • Follow all store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of tobacco and alcohol.
  • Sanitation and Maintenance
    • Responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean, and meet all health and OSHA requirements.
  • Teamwork and Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with coworkers and superiors.
    • Responsible for continuously improving job performance.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or responsibilities required:

  • Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • No prior experience required.
