Job Summary

The Production Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their assigned shift. This includes coordinating work activities for hourly and temporary employees, supporting efficient equipment operation, and providing adequate personnel training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the operations of assigned shift, including work activities for hourly and temporary employees.
  • Support efficient equipment operation and provide adequate personnel training.
  • Handle personnel issues and communicate relevant information to Production Supervisors.
  • Organize and assign sanitation duties, machine troubleshooting, and reassignment of team members as needed.
  • Coach and support each team member, facilitating brief team meetings as needed.
  • Assign or complete cross-training activities for shift personnel to work in production areas.
  • Confer with team production leads to coordinate operations and activities within or between work areas.
  • Complete all shift paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, GMP standards, and HACCP.
  • Oversee maintenance of clean and sanitary conditions according to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect and document defects, malfunctions, and questions.
  • Confirm production orders in SAP, if needed.
  • Routinely suggest and implement improvements on assigned areas.
  • Participate in process improvement training, safety training, or committee work.
  • Take responsibility for assigned duties and perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalency and a minimum of two years of appropriate supervisory experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient English language skills, both written and oral.
  • Computer knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP (helpful).
  • Teamwork and Cooperation - genuine intention to work cooperatively with others and be part of a team.
  • Flexibility, Self-control, Self-confidence - ability to adapt to and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals, or groups.
  • Organizational Commitment - ability and willingness to modify behavior to suit the values, priorities, and goals of the organization.
  • Interpersonal understanding and Relationship building - ability to listen and understand others.
  • Initiative - preference for taking action before being requested.
  • Developing Others - genuine intent to foster the learning or development of one or several employees.
