We are seeking a skilled Packaging Operator to join our team at 21st Amendment Brewery in San Leandro, California. As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of our high-speed can and keg line, ensuring the production of high-quality packaging.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain our 40-head can filler, lid feeder, pasteurizer, palletizer, depalletizer, and keg filling machine, as well as hand-pack variety packs.
- Focus on run-time efficiencies and quality finished goods, identifying necessary equipment repairs and conveying maintenance needs to the maintenance manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of packaging runs and materials.
- Perform weekly cleaning and sanitation of all canning and racking equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills within a fast-paced work environment.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexible schedule, with ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a similar role.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Prior knowledge of commercial brewing and packaging processes.
- Prior experience in similar packaging industries as a machine operator.
- Prior industrial forklift experience.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of 5S practices (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, and sustain).
- Beverage gas specifications (O2, CO2), seam checks.
Our Packaging Operator will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to chemicals, solvents, and mechanical parts. The position requires standing for 90% of the time, with occasional sitting, walking, and bending.
