About the Role:
Norton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and handle instrumentation and surgical equipment, assisting the surgeon during procedures.
- Administer care and use of equipment applications based on the age and needs of the patient population served.
- Apply knowledge of specific procedures or specialties, effectively prioritize, and plan and problem solve due to the changing nature of the work situation during surgical procedures.
- Recognize and support the need for immediate response during urgent or emergency situations.
- Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique, and apply this knowledge in all patient and family interactions.
Requirements:
- One year of surgical tech experience, completion of a surgical tech program, or completion of a surgical tech apprentice program.
- For Senior Surgical Technician, three years of experience as a Surgical Technician and certification as a Surgical Tech (CST).
