We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Outpatient team at Carilion Clinic. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced physician practice setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
- Prepare patients for provider evaluations, including obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, and assisting during procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and lab spaces.
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Provide patient education on lab results, medications, and follow-up care.
- Assist with referral authorizations and pre-authorizations for testing and services.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or new graduate eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
- One year of experience in a physician office setting preferred.
- Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia (LPN) required.
- AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
