Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Shift Coordinator. This role will provide leadership and clinical expertise on their respective shift and department, ensuring that staffing and resources are optimized to meet the needs of our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support and guidance to staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Coordinate unit resources to ensure appropriate staffing and census, balancing clinical and financial needs.
  • Supervise and direct patient care, responding to emergencies and collaborating with the staffing office to adjust staffing levels as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the oncoming Charge Nurse, sharing information on census, staffing, and patient needs.
  • Support unit management in managing department productivity, staffing, and timekeeping, and coordinating unit activities.
  • Perform evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice is required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
Work Environment

This role will be based at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado, with a scheduled weekly hours of 40.
