Job Summary
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with cancer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing direct patient care, documenting patient information, and collaborating with medical oncologists to develop treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical and emotional needs.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborate with medical oncologists to develop personalized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree in Nursing Science (MSN) from an accredited program.
- Certifications: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred; Advanced Practice Oncology (AOCNP) certification also preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in oncology nursing.
- Licensure: Licensed by the State of Maine as an advanced practice registered nurse (Nurse Practitioner).
