Manufacturing Operations Supervisor:

The key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to: (refer to the responsibility chart)

Pre-Production & Inventory Management:

Establish and uphold an annual pre-production and production timeline to ensure timely line launches and on-schedule delivery of all products.

  • Collaborate closely with Design, Fabric Procurement, Merchandising, Customer Support, and Finance to ensure transparent communication and that critical information is accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Manage all Fabric Purchase Orders and maintain an updated Fabric tracking system. Ensure timely delivery of fabric and keep all parties informed of any delays.
  • Monitor fabric usage, yields (Style/Yield chart), and Fabric On Hand inventory.
  • Ensure that Fabric On Hand and production reports are accurate and delivered promptly.
  • Conduct seasonal sales evaluations for all Essential Fabrics to ascertain the appropriate fabric procurement levels.
  • Work with the CEO to develop and track the Buy Plan for each season.
  • Prepare analyses to determine total cutting quantities and size distributions.
  • Oversee seasonal patternmaking and production timelines, distributing them to merchandising, production, and the CEO.
  • Supervise and submit patterns for grading and marking processes.
  • Ensure timely completion of all special samples for promotional shoots and unique client productions.
  • Determine the distribution of all production, whether to retail locations, travel lines, or warehouses (by size, color, style).
  • Curate travel lines to ensure representation of all styles, colors, and sizes.

Production Management:

  • Establish and maintain an annual pre-production and production schedule to guarantee timely line openings and delivery of all products.
  • Track the Buy Plan for each season effectively.
  • Inspect and assess all fabric prior to cutting, including conducting shrinkage, skewing, pilling, and other relevant tests.
  • Source new manufacturing facilities and cutting rooms while evaluating current partners to ensure adequate production capacity.
  • Input Work In Progress (WIP) into the system and ensure proper receipt of production upon delivery.
  • Negotiate production costs and develop cost sheets with suggested retail pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Fabric Procurement, Merchandising, Customer Support, and Finance to maintain clear communication and essential knowledge sharing.
  • Establish and maintain Quality Control systems, documentation, and reporting.
  • Accountable for the overall quality of the finished products.
  • Prepare a list of critical points to monitor before production and provide training to factories.
  • Schedule garments to the most suitable factory and manage factory workload.
  • Visit domestic contractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Investigate and resolve quality concerns promptly. Manage customer feedback and identify root causes.
  • Engage in sourcing activities in Asia for knitwear and other categories.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a competent production team while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Demonstrate expert proficiency in Excel for production reporting and utilize the Aria operating system effectively.
  • Maintain communication and oversee relationships with warehouse operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in garment specification.
  • Experience with tailored suiting and a solid understanding of technical design for tailored garments.
  • Knowledge of pattern making; capable of providing direction to pattern makers for necessary adjustments.
  • Experience in Quality Control with manufacturing partners.

Compensation: Salary range is $150,000 - $175,000.
