Electrician Journeyworker

The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) is seeking a skilled Journeyworker Electrician to join their team in Lansing, MI.

As a Journeyworker Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various electrical components, including power distribution systems, substations, and general electrical maintenance at BWL production facilities.

• Install and maintain breakers, transformers, switches, tap changers, and other electrical equipment on 138KV and potentially energized voltages of 13.2KV 480-V and lighting systems.
• Install and repair electric motors and controls.
• Install electric conduit and cable.
• Install and maintain DC battery systems.
• Work on computer equipment installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Follow BWL Safety Manual and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Attend training for safety awareness or skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL or governmental agency such as MIOSHA.
• Respond to code calls or other emergencies within the production facility.
