Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team at Hill Engineers, Architects, Planners, Inc. This role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the evaluation, design, and documentation of structural projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough structural assessments of existing infrastructures.
- Engage in field investigations to ascertain current conditions, execute calculations, and develop innovative designs.
- Collaborate on structural projects to produce comprehensive construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications.
- Work in partnership with fellow structural engineers and other professionals to ensure project success.
- Coordinate with architects and engineers, both in-house and external, to align on project goals.
- Guide draftspersons and designers in translating designs into tangible documentation.
- Participate in projects that focus solely on structural elements as well as multidisciplinary initiatives.
- Oversee construction administration tasks, including site visits, review of submissions, and addressing requests for information (RFIs).
- Provide mentorship to junior structural engineers (EITs) to foster their professional growth.
- Authorize and stamp engineering drawings for your work and that of team members under your supervision.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid professional engineering license in civil or structural engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering with a focus on structural design from an accredited institution.
- Familiarity with structural design software is preferred, with knowledge of RISA and proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit considered advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
