About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Speech Language Pathology to lead our Speech Language Pathology program at Duke Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our speech language pathology services, ensuring that we deliver high-quality patient care and advance our clinical and research programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to advance our speech language pathology program, including clinical service development, research initiatives, and education and training programs.
  • Clinical Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of high-quality speech language pathology services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Research and Scholarship: Foster a culture of research and scholarship within the program, including the development of research proposals, grant writing, and publication of research findings.
  • Education and Training: Develop and implement education and training programs for speech language pathologists, including clinical training, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
  • Human Resources and Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including staff supervision, budget management, and facilities management.
Requirements
  • Education: PhD in Communication Disorders or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a speech language pathologist, with a strong background in clinical leadership and research.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including patients, families, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
  • Certifications: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and eligibility for North Carolina License for Speech Language Pathology.
