Job Summary

This position is located at a swimming pool facility and is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of pool guests. The Recreation Aid will work under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager to provide lifeguarding services, respond to emergencies, and maintain a clean and safe pool environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide lifeguarding services for indoor and outdoor pools
  • Respond to emergencies and administer first aid as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe pool environment
  • Provide information to swimmers regarding safety and health rules and procedures
  • Assist in coaching or preparing competitive and non-competitive swimming programs
  • Maintain daily logs, reports, and records as required
Requirements
  • Possess and maintain certifications in lifeguarding and first aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent)
  • Hold certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED)
  • Meet education requirements
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The Recreation Aid will be required to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. The position may also require working in a team environment and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
