Graphic Designer

About the Role

The Graphic Artist/Preflight Specialist I will provide layout and graphic design work for internal jobs at St. Joseph's Indian School. This role will take files through the preflight stage to the CTP Platesetter, ensuring high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams to design and layout various digital and printed materials, including marketing collateral and educational resources.
• Utilize PC or Mac-based Adobe programs, such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, to create visually appealing and effective designs.
• Operate Rip software in conjunction with the CTP Platesetter to ensure seamless production.
• Maintain digital job files and ensure proper archiving and backup procedures.
• Assist in all areas of the print shop as needed to meet production goals and objectives.
• Work with variable data printers to create customized materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Print Shop Manager to support the organization's mission.

Requirements

• A degree in Graphic Arts or Prepress is preferred, but experience in the printing industry is also acceptable.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role.
• Familiarity with computer hardware and software associated with the position is necessary to ensure efficient operation and high-quality output.

Physical Demands

• Repetitive use of both hands and wrists for prolonged periods.
