Paramedic Role at Lewis County Search and Rescue

We are seeking a dedicated Paramedic to contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional emergency medical services. If you are committed to providing care in urgent situations, this position may be ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-hospital and inter-facility transportation for patients experiencing medical emergencies.
  • Collect pertinent information from patients, witnesses, and healthcare professionals to determine optimal treatment and transport options.
  • Rapidly evaluate the severity of injuries or medical conditions to administer appropriate care.
  • Safely transport patients requiring medical attention, ensuring their comfort and security throughout the journey.
  • Provide necessary medical interventions on-site or during transit.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatch, first responders, and healthcare facilities using communication tools.
  • Collaborate with medical staff at emergency facilities to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Operate emergency vehicles in accordance with established safety protocols and regulations.
  • Exhibit leadership within a collaborative team environment, working closely with fellow responders and caregivers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a NYS Paramedic along with AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License with a clean driving history.
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal records.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements necessary for the role.
  • Maintain composure and focus in high-stress environments.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic, good character, and a positive attitude.
