Accounts Receivable Specialist (AR)

Job Summary:

VanderHouwen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. As an AR Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the company's cash flow by collecting payments from customers, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor customer accounts and initiate collections efforts to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances.
  • Assess creditworthiness of customers to determine payment plan options and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Process invoices, payments, cash postings, and ACH payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers, responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Set up and maintain customer accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is recorded in the company's systems.
  • Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and compliance of all AR transactions, including ad-hoc reporting for management.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or collections.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Deadline-driven with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $24-$27/hour, plus bonus (dependent on experience).
  • Eligibility for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and matching 401(k).
