Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanic - Construction Equipment Specialist to join our team in Salinas, CA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heavy-duty equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems;
  • Conduct inspections and diagnose problems to ensure equipment is in good working condition;
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication;
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and general upkeep of the shop;
  • Coach and mentor entry-level Mechanics, overseeing daily work and performance;
  • Conduct repairs on job sites as needed;
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance;
  • May fabricate, weld, and cut parts using arc-welding and wire feed equipment;
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) 90-day inspections.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED);
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment service and repair;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with hydraulics, diesel engines, and DOT/BIT;
  • One year experience with air brakes;
  • One year experience with vehicle electrical and computer-controlled systems;
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
