Job DescriptionKBK Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will be responsible for performing monthly financial activities, including general ledger review, financial analysis, and general accounting functions related to real estate property management operations.Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers or clients for products or services rendered.
  • Monitor and process incoming payments, ensuring timely receipt.
  • Reconcile AR ledger balances with bank statements and customer accounts.
  • Apply payments to the correct customer accounts and invoices in the accounting system.
  • Generate and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to monitor overdue accounts.
  • Follow-up on outstanding invoices, sending reminders or making collection calls when necessary.
  • Assess and monitor customer credit limits and manage any credit-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all AR transactions and supporting documentation.
  • Accounts Payable (AP) Responsibilities:
  • Review and process vendor invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
  • Reconcile AP ledger balances with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor and report on company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
  • Manage payment schedules to ensure that payments are made on time, taking advantage of discounts when possible.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations in processing payments.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process by providing necessary AP-related information.
  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits related to AP transactions.
  • General Responsibilities:
  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems.
  • Generate various financial reports related to AR and AP as required by management.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues related to AR and AP.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of AR/AP processes.
  • Assist property management company, review, and collaborate on projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, accuracy, and multi-tasking is essential.
  • The ability to use a PC and widely used software, including Yardi Software, is preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from the manager to accomplish objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in accounting with 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting (affordable HUD preferred).
  • Five or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A CPA license is preferred but not required.
