About the Role:
- Job Title: Mechanical & Magnet Assembly Specialist
- Pay Rate: $22.43 per Hour
- Work Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday to Thursday from 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM with optional overtime
Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical & Magnet Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Operating coil winding machinery to facilitate the transfer of wire from spools to winding arbors, bobbins, and tubes for coil production.
- Setting up guides, keys, and switches to prepare equipment for effective operation.
- Mounting and positioning materials, including leads and insulation, onto coils through crimping, soldering, brazing, or other necessary methods.
- Installing connectors, plugs, wire guides, and various components into magnet housings.
- Assembling coils within magnet housings.
- Preparing epoxy components for a range of products.
- Applying epoxy and curing coils along with friction materials into magnet housings and rotors.
- Conducting inspections and tests on magnets and other products.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Performing additional tasks as required or assigned, including assisting in other departments when necessary.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fundamental math skills (both standard and metric).
- Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to accurately follow written instructions.
- Capability to perform tasks rapidly while maintaining accuracy.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
- Commitment to following safety regulations.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn soldering techniques.
- Capability to work with small components, with or without accommodations.
- High hand-eye coordination.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:
- Remain seated for 75% of the shift.
- Walk, lift, push, pull, and stand as required.
- Perform repetitive tasks and motions.
