Position Details

The Surgical First Assistant is tasked with maintaining aseptic technique in the operating room, preparing necessary equipment and sterile supplies for assigned surgical cases, and assisting during procedures by passing instruments and managing equipment. Responsibilities also include organizing the operating room for upcoming schedules and ensuring all supplies are ready for use. Availability for on-call duties as needed is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Graduate of an Accredited Allied Health Education Program

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

Minimum Experience: One year in a clinical environment

Required Certifications:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist
  • BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Certification: Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

Job ID #18238. Compensation package is based on standard 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, with tax-free stipend amounts to be determined.
