Product Manager, Posterior Segment

Topcon is seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to lead the development and launch of our posterior segment products. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for directing the comprehensive product strategy from conception to end of life. Your expertise in product development and launch will drive the strategic vision and execution of our retinal disease-related products.

  • Develop and execute short and long-term product strategies to achieve business sector goals
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical staff to shepherd the product enhancement/new product development process
  • Develop and provide marketing deliverables to product development process
  • Manage regional launch for new products, next generation products, and product enhancements
  • Provide product, pricing, distribution, and positioning strategy for assigned products
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager to provide content for launch messaging, sales training materials, promotional campaign, and point of sale collateral materials
  • Develop, maintain, and grow KOL relationships to gain clinical literature and validation support for applications of assigned products
  • Responsible for lifecycle management including market concept, product launch readiness, and product stability and end of life
  • Monitor performance trends: Gather market data from all sales organizations and customers worldwide, propose sales targets
  • Competitive intelligence: Collect, maintain, and disseminate competitive intelligence, about e.g., positioning, selling arguments, clinical research, etc.
  • Market research: Execute (regional) customer surveys, focus groups, etc.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or technical degree required
  • +5 years in related technical field accepted as a substitute for technical degree
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Clinical experience preferred
  • Previous product development and launch experience in complex products and/or product families required. Direct experience with ophthalmic product development and launch preferred.
  • Financial modeling, forecasting, planning, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge and experience in the product development process
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills
  • Experienced knowledge of spreadsheet financial analysis, word processing, and presentation software
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead others cross-functionally
  • Experienced working in a highly regulated product space required. Experience working with FDA 510(k) process preferred

Benefits:

  • Expected Base Pay Range: $110,000 to $140,000 Annualized
  • Eligibility for a 5% annual bonus
