Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key responsibilities include:

  • Representing clients in California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board proceedings and appellate matters.
  • Conducting thorough research using Lexis-Nexis to inform case strategies.
  • Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Preparing for and attending court hearings and trials, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their needs and provide expert legal guidance.
  • Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients when suitable.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation in line with our firm's protocols.
  • Staying informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting ongoing cases.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should:

  • Be admitted to the California State Bar.
  • Possess strong legal writing skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Show proficiency in legal research tools like Lexis-Nexis.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
