Job Summary

Millersville University is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Patrol Officer Trainee. As a key member of our university community, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service and support to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a comprehensive training program to develop skills and knowledge in law enforcement, including investigations, evidence collection, and emergency response.
  • Patrol university grounds to ensure the safety and security of the community, responding to incidents and emergencies as needed.
  • Enforce university policies and regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with students, faculty, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with other university departments and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Basic PC skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle safely.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as criminal justice or law enforcement.
  • Experience working in a law enforcement or security role, preferably in an educational setting.
