Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and connect pipe systems, ensuring proper alignment and sealing of joints.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including trenching equipment and pipe-laying machinery.
  • Set up and verify pipe grades and slopes, making necessary corrections with field supervision.
  • Configure pipe routes and align pipes in pipeline sections.
  • Dig trenches and insert pipes, ensuring proper spacing and alignment.
  • Inspect and test pipe systems to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains, and grade trenches or culverts as needed.
  • Seal joints and cover pipes with dirt or other material.
  • Drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines and work with concrete pipes.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in utility roadway construction.
  • Physical ability to perform assigned tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools, including trenching equipment and pipe-laying machinery.
  • Knowledge of working with concrete pipes and previous experience setting up to 42" RCP.
  • Previous experience with safety end treatments and flexibility to work days and nights as needed.
