Position Summary

A Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for assessing and treating patients within the acute care environment. This role involves working with individuals of varying ages who require immediate care following trauma, surgical procedures, or acute medical incidents. The PT plays a crucial role in helping patients achieve optimal functional levels and provides recommendations for subsequent care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Implement rehabilitation services aimed at enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, and strengthening physical capabilities.
  • Participate in rotations across various medical units, including but not limited to trauma, cardiology, oncology, and orthopedic departments.
  • Contribute to specialty teams focusing on areas such as wound care, pediatrics, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
  • Preferred: Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Experience

  • No prior experience is necessary.

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Commitment to professional development through ongoing education and application of new techniques.

Licensure/Certification

  • Required: BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
