Construction Casualty Underwriter Role

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Michigan. As a remote position, you will have the opportunity to work with complex new and renewal accounts across Auto, GL, and Worker's Compensation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a customer industry advocate, focusing on improving the customer experience by understanding their risk and offering the best end-to-end solution for their insurance needs.
  • Use a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing.
  • Apply risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at point of sale.
  • Market facing and production within the growing Construction division.
  • Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Brokerage or Market Facing area.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • AVP, Level IV Underwriter Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Technical knowledge of Construction Casualty Underwriting.
  • Established broker relationships (retail brokers) in Michigan.
  • Sales execution mindset.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
