We are seeking a skilled Regional Truck Driver to join our team at Commercial Metals Company. As a Regional Truck Driver, you will be responsible for delivering fabricated steel products to customers, contractors, and jobsites throughout the location geographic region.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites in a safe and timely manner
- Inspect vehicles for safety and operational defects, ensuring emergency equipment is in proper working order
- Use Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) during operation of vehicle
- Load and secure products on trailers, including tarping and dropping/hooking trailers
- Perform frequent physical activity, including walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and working with chains and equipment
- Set up sideboard kits around trailer floors
- Demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and a commitment to safety
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License required
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor/trailer experience required (3 years flatbed hauling over-the-road experience preferred)
- Knowledge of D.O.T. Regulations/Requirements
- No violations for careless, negligent, or reckless operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle in previous 3 years
- No felony involving the use of a Commercial Motor Vehicle in previous 3 years
- No DUI or DWI in previous 5 years
- No more than 1 moving violation in previous 3 years
- No on-road preventable accidents in previous 3 years
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnight stays, overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
